The first time we drove up to Anderson Valley, we decided to stop here and taste some wines. It turned out to be a fantastic spontaneous decision! First, the winery is incredibly beautiful with the oak trees. Then the owners Tom... and Teresa are so welcoming and excellent story tellers. And the wines! We usually don’t get many white wines but both the white and reds at Artevino are delicious! First of all, the owner, Tom, is a legendary host if you ever get the pleasure of tasting wine with him. Come for... the delicious wines, stay for Tom's tales. We have been back several times with friends and joined the club the first time because of our positive experience. The wines are all handcrafted and natural and tasty... I love the cowboy red as a "goes with anything wine" and any of their chardonnays as a non-chardonnay drinker. The winery itself is set off the road under shady trees, which makes for a delightful setting to sit outside to enjoy tasting the wines. I've been a member there for many years and will remain so, as long as he is in business. There has never been a time that I made a trip there that I haven't bought at least a couple bottles of delicious wine. If you are taking Hwy 128 to Mendocino, stop by and sample it for yourself.read more
