We loved the Pinot Nior as well as the Zinfandel. Have a chat with Tom and you will learn that he is the artist who produced all of the art work in the winery tasting room. Not only do they offer a wide selection of wine, they have fantastic pieces art for sale, created by the wine maker himself! My husband and I visited to celebrate my birthday and with Houston's help, we narrowed it down to our favorite red and white to enjoy over Christmas dinner. (Thank you so much Houston for being so kind, sharing your stories with us, and helping us navigate through new terrain, we sincerely appreciate it and had a fantastic visit with your recommendations.) The Double Gold Chardonnay left such a great impression, we couldn't leave without it, and the Zinfandel is a must try! Candied ginger aromas with a white pepper finish... A little further up the road, a little wooden room in a clearing presented an inviting wonderful oasis of stunning wines of local vines. Besides buying some bottles I tasted all offered with knowledge and enthusiasm for the craft. Some very unique wines I’d never tried or tasted in the combination before. We were greeted by Buster and Posey (the owners' pups) on our way up the winding drive. With incredible views and such a friendly, inviting atmosphere, Artevino is certainly a hidden gem with some of the best wines I have had since visiting the Azores. The space is so serene and lovely. We chatted with Houston, who was welcoming and friendly - obviously knowledgeable, but easy going and relaxed. We also met Tom, and his sweet pups Buster and Posey. The wine is delicious! (And they have some unusual grapes - ones I haven't seen elsewhere.) But the thing is, I can get delicious wine in all kinds of places. For me, the experience is what I'm there for when I go to tasting rooms, and Artevino is one of the good ones. We first came here four years ago, and that visit stayed with us so much that when we found ourselves in the region again, we made it a point to stop by.
